The Birth of a Prophecy

The Visions of the Coming Years began as an experiment: what if we could take the accelerating chaos of today—climate disasters, AI breakthroughs, political polarization, and spin it forward into an imagined near future? Would it feel fantastical? Or too close for comfort?
We started with current news: record-breaking heat waves, governments rushing to deploy AI surveillance, volcanic activity intensifying across the globe, and whispers of quantum computers reaching milestones no one expected so soon. Layered on top of these were the darker currents: the rise of extremism, misinformation reshaping reality, and billionaires quietly building sanctuaries while funding chaos elsewhere.
From these threads, we stitched together a narrative voice. Enter Eryth, the Seer. A woman who lived quietly on a northern Finnish farm before being abducted in 1957, shown visions of creation and destruction in a cave of light. Her voice became the spine of the prophecy.
From Headlines to Apocalypse
This isn’t pure science fiction. Every element, collapsing ecosystems, secret AI projects, whispers of AGI, and the unsettling signals from space, is rooted in what’s already unfolding. We gave it an apocalyptic twist, yes, but also asked: what if humanity still has time to steer the course?
The Visions are not meant to terrify. They’re meant to stir. To light a fire in the reader that says, “If this is the path we’re walking, what are we doing to change it?”
